It's important to clarify that insurance rates can be subject to change over time due to various factors, including the length of time between a quote and policy activation, and updated underwriting information. When a policy is activated several months after an initial quote, premium adjustments can occur. Regarding the umbrella policy, the price increase you noted from $200 to $390 was a direct reflection of your request to double the coverage. An increase in coverage directly impacts the premium.
